Timelapse at the Natural History Museum

about project

We have filmed many events at the Natural History museum and we are always amazed at the setting up speed of the event organisers.  The museum closes its doors to visitors at 6pm and most events start at 8pm. This leaves just 2 hours for the complete transformation of the main hall.  In this Christmas party for Sapinda, organised and delivered by Event Concept and Veevers-Carter the standards were set very high. More than a hundred people were involved in the preparation of the hall and some of the other numbers and stats would make everyone feel dizzy.  Amongst all, we keep the 30,000 roses which had to be positioned individually and in complete perfection.
Our job was to tell the story of this preparation by following the organisers from the warehouse into the museum where they set up and transformed the whole space.  For this purpose we set up 15 cameras in various spots and edited the whole footage down to 75 seconds.
